Like Bush Art on Facebook to see what we're working on!

If you are new to Bush, you may notice that our art room is run a little differently than what you may be used to. We are a Choice-Based studio, meaning that students are in charge of their own art-making decisions. Third through fifth graders have access to seven different studio centers: drawing, collage, paint, fiber, clay, digital, and sculpture. Kindergarten and first graders choose from drawing and collage, fiber, play-dough, blocks, as well as several different rotating centers.

Students draw inspiration from big ideas, and incorporate several different standards into their work through-out the year. Each class, students will have either a quick lesson that introduces a project they may choose to do or view and analyze a work of art.

If you would like more information on choice-based instruction, visit the Teaching for Artistic Behavior Website.
